MoD's Strategic Objectives
The Department's Strategic Objectives include:
- Supporting the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to achieve
a global and regional reduction in conflict through improved UK and
international efforts to prevent, manage and resolve conflict and
to create the conditions required for effective state-building and
economic development
- Supporting the Home Office to reduce the risks to the UK and
its interests overseas from international terrorism

- Disposal of surplus assets - towards the Government target of
£30billion
- Integration of Future Capabilities
The aim of the Defence Change Portfolio is to modernise the
MoD's business processes, improving efficiency and effectiveness,
thus maximising investment in front-line operational capability. It
joins up the main change programmes across the MoD under central
direction.
